D. Dominic Devine

D. Dominic Devine, commonly known as Dominic Devine, is a London-based supervising art director. Trained initially in technical roles—such as camera technician, steadicam assistant, electrician, and set construction—he transitioned into the art department, where his architectural and hands-on background quickly distinguished him. Over the years, he has brought a unique blend of creative artistry and technical precision to every production, with credits ranging from early work on shows like Spooks, Silent Witness, and City of Vice, to more elaborate period pieces and genre work including Bitter Harvest, The Spanish Princess, Sanditon, and My Lady Jane.

Devine advanced from roles in construction and standby art direction to art director and ultimately supervising art director on high-profile television series. He was senior or supervising art director on The Spanish Princess (Starz, 2018), Sanditon (2019), Bridgerton Seasons 1 and 2 (2019–2022), and My Lady Jane (Amazon/ITV, 2022–2023). His work on Bridgerton notably earned him nominations for Outstanding Production Design at the Primetime Emmy Awards and for Best Production Design at the British Film Designers Guild Awards.

Beyond his artistic responsibilities, Devine has become known for his leadership within the art department, managing budgets, studio builds, crew hires, and schedules, while fostering strong interdepartmental collaboration. His multidisciplinary background, encompassing lighting, grip, camera, and even screenwriting and production, has informed his versatile approach to design and logistics. He is affiliated with the Casting Directors Association (CDA) and BAFTA.
